Frida Las Vegas - An Australiana Utopia
Best described as a dopamine utopia filled with retro vibes and neon signage, Frieda Las Vegas is a groovy ode to classic Australian icons.
Visual artist and designer Stavroula ‘Stav’ Adameitis returns to her hometown of Adelaide, who has opened up a flagship store in the heart of the CBD through the Renew Adelaide program.
There’s a groovy display counter and a bin-chicken which greets you as you venture through the doors, nostalgic 80’s disco vibes in another corner, and unmistakably a shrine-line setup which proudly showcases Stav’s slow fashion ethos.
Upon Speaking with Stav, her design cues and inspirations evidently shine throughout her personality, wholly reflected by the store fit-out. It’s a pleasure listening to her travels and places she’s called home throughout her career, upon her return to setting-up shop back in her hometown of Adelaide.
Stav manufactures and screen-prints her pieces by hand in Sydney and Adelaide and is renowned for her infamous ‘glamour sacks’ and kaftans which are size inclusive, ranging from size 6 to 26. In-store, you’ll also find a collection of fashion accessories, swimwear, t-shirts, towels, and prints.
You can find Frida Las Vegas at Shop 24, Charles Street Plaza, Adelaide 5000.
